The University of Hawai'i's 2005 season-opening football game against
defending national champion Southern California will remain Saturday,
Sept. 3, but the Warriors' game against Wisconsin will move to Friday,
Nov. 25, UH announced yesterday.
ESPN had asked UH to move both games to accommodate national
telecasts.
Kickoff against USC will remain 6:05 p.m., while the Wisconsin game
will start at 4:05 p.m. and likely will be shown on ESPN or ESPN2.
Telecast of the USC game has yet to be determined.
The schedule features seven home games and five road games,
including at Michigan State the week after the USC game. The home
schedule includes USC, and Western Athletic Conference members Boise
State, New Mexico State, Fresno State and Utah State, along with
Wisconsin and former WAC member San Diego State.
"It's a tough schedule, but certainly a great one for our fans," UH
head coach June Jones said in a release. "It's going to be fun to get
the exposure of playing against USC and Michigan State, especially for
our kids."
